Comparison between Sharia and law

Comparison between Sharia and law

Q: Is the comparison between the Sharia and the law considered a disparagement of the Sharia?

A: If the comparison is for a righteous purpose, such as the intention of showing the comprehensiveness of the Shari’ah and its high status and superiority over man-made laws and its containment of public interests, then there is nothing wrong with that – because it shows the truth and convinces the advocates of falsehood, and shows the falsity of what they say in calling for laws, or the call that this time is not appropriate. For the Sharia, or its time has passed – for this righteous and good intention, and to clarify what deters those and shows the falsehood of what they are upon, and to reassure the hearts of the believers and establish them on the truth. And good conduct and knowledge of the sciences of Sharia and its great purposes[1].
